Wire Transfers

To send an outgoing wire from MEFCU, please contact us for the appropriate wire transfer form.

  • Incoming Wire Instructions

    Funds being wired from a financial institution outside the United States must first be sent to their state correspondent bank in the United States, then follow instructions below. 

    To wire funds from a financial institution within the United States, follow the instructions below.

    Notary

    Available at all of our locations with no appointment necessary, free of charge for our members in good standing.

      What to bring:

      • All original unsigned documents.
      • Official Photo Identification (driver’s license, passport or other government issued Identification).

      Documents that cannot be notarized:

      • Vital records, such as Birth Certificates, Death Certificates and Marriage Licenses. Additionally, certified copies of such documents cannot be made.
      • College Transcripts
      • Legal Depositions
      • Recorded Titles to Property/Quit Claim Deeds
      • Last Will and Testaments without clear instruction and notarial wording within the document
      • Closing Documents for loans at other financial institutions
      • Anything bearing an official government seal

    Signature Guarantee

    For your convenience, we provide signature guarantee services free of charge for our members in good standing. All branches have signature guarantee services, however the individuals authorized to perform this guarantee may not always be in the office. 

    We recommend contacting our Call Center to ensure availability or to set up an appointment. 

    • What to Bring
      1. All original unsigned documents. If full documentation is not available we cannot perform a Signature Guarantee.
      2. Method of determining value of the securities being transferred. MEFCU limits signature guarantee services to transfers valued at $400,000 or less. Any transfer over that amount cannot be guaranteed.
      3. Official Photo Identification (driver’s license, passport or other government issued Identification).

    Safe-Deposit Boxes

    Valuable documents and irreplaceable family heirlooms should not be kept unprotected in your home. Safe-deposit boxes provide protection, from both theft and fire, for your most important and treasured items.

    Safe-deposit boxes are available at MEFCU's Cascade Lake41st Street and Canal Place office locations in various sizes, at competitive rates.

    Savings Bonds

    As of December 31st, 2011, all savings bond purchases must be made online. You may redeem existing series E, EE and I bonds at any MEFCU branch.

    Savings bonds are backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government and are an attractive investment due to their affordability and rates. Tax advantages may apply, including a special program when bonds are used for higher education. Consult your tax advisor for more information. 

    Cashier's Checks

    Each month, members receive four cashier's checks free of charge. Additional checks are available for a $3.00 fee. We will need to know who the check is payable to, and the amount requested.

    We also offer Money Orders for a $3.00 fee. All we need is the amount you would like, up to a $1,000 maximum.
